The Jackson County Board of Supervisors is proud to announce the Ribbon Cutting for the Sue Ellen Expansion Project on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The project includes the installation of both basketball and tennis courts on the Sue Ellen campus.
The county is committed to working closely with city government to ensure better recreational opportunities for all Jackson County citizens.
“Quality recreation in Jackson County is very important to me and the Board,” says Melton Harris. “Community members will be able to utilize these courts and enjoy them for years to come.”
Muskingum Barnes, Moss Point Recreation Director, is excited about the new addition to Sue Ellen’s sports facilities.
“The new courts added to the Sue Ellen facility offer our children in that area more recreational opportunities. It will provide a place for them to come and have fun while keeping them active and healthy,” Mr. Barnes said.
The Moss Point Recreation Department is planning a tennis camp this spring to encourage the use of the new tennis courts.
Community members are encouraged to come and be a part of the ceremony celebrating the opening of the new courts.
The Sue Ellen Recreational Facility located at 4131 Sue Ellen Street, Moss Point. For more information regarding the Tennis Camp, contact Vincent Norvel, Moss Point Recreation Athletic Director @ 228.475.7887.
