Man claims woman from bar stole his vehicle | Crime

An Escatawpa woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly stole a vehicle from a man she met at a bar on October 28, according to Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd.
Byrd said, after 42-year-old Prudence Lee Hoffman met the victim, she reportedly went back to the victim's home. The victim claimed while he was asleep, Hoffman stole his vehicle, cell phone, house phone and money from his wallet.
According to Byrd, a Moss Point police officer, stopped an acquaintance of Hoffman in the vehicle a day after the incident. Shortly after the stop, investigators were able to identify Hoffman.
She was arrested and charged with felony taking of a motor vehicle.
On Tuesday, Hoffman made an initial appearance in Jackson County Court. Judge T. Larry Wilson set Hoffman's bail at $2,000.
If convicted, Hoffman faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
